LifeSource Supports Project Huacaria

When you think about the immense scale of the global challenge, 1.2 billion people - or 1 out of 5 - are without access to safe drinking water and half the world's population lacking adequate water-treatment -it is incumbent upon us to help. Every indigenous community can have sustainable clean water and proper sanitation systems that function in context to their own cultural and environmental needs.

Message From Nancy Santullo

Time has passed so quickly! HOTC has entered our final 3 months of project implementation and our permanent presence in the native village of Saint Rose of Huacaria in the southeastern Peruvian Amazon. Our advances are many.

Project Huacaria Intro

The Native Community of Saint Rose of Huacaria is located in the southeastern Peruvian Amazon at the interface, between lowland tropical rain forest and the cloud forests of the Andean foothills.

Gravity Flow Water System

Huacaria's gravity flow water system was built in 1993 by a governmental development project. Engineers sourced the drinking water from a contaminated stream and directed it to a gravity flow distribution system.
