To be successful in this position you must possess solid general ledger accounting background and experience. The Senior Accountant is expected to work closely with the controller to improve the overall rigor of the financial statements by ensuring correct expense classifications, developing monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, and adhering closely to GAAP accounting standards. The person will also play an integral role in the annual budgeting process. In addition to core accounting functions, the Senior Accountant will eventually be the accounting lead for all commission related processing requests.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Process all commission related requests
  • Track financing orders and apply funding on CRM system
  • Process credit memos and ad hoc inventory adjustments
  • Reconcile Daily AR Receipts
  • Review and post daily general ledger and accounts payable invoice batches
  • Process business license and permit renewals
  • Prepare and file monthly / quarterly sales and use taxes for five states (CA, AZ, NV, TX & FL)
  • Prepare month end journal entries
  • Prepare preliminary month end financial variance analysis
  • Review income statement expense classifications
  • Reconcile all prepaid and accrued balance sheet accounts
  • Reconcile bank accounts and prepare journal entry for general checking and payroll accounts
  • Prepare monthly petty cash report, journal entry, and reconciliation
  • Maintain fixed assets schedule – capitalization of new addition, depreciation tracking, roll forward
  • Help with annual budget
  • Review Dashboard and produce leaderboard reports

The ideal Candidate must possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other related discipline required
  • One year+ of public accounting experience preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of general ledger accounting experience
  • Strong reconciliation experience
  • Analytical thinking and systematic approach to improve process efficiencies
  • Must have advance usage in Excel
  • Goal oriented and self-starter
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
