Where It All Started
Before whole home filtration existed as a mainstream option, homes relied almost entirely on water softeners or small under-sink filters. Nothing delivered clean, great-tasting, mineral-rich water to every tap without salt, chemicals, or routine upkeep.
When B.J. Wright discovered an early whole-house carbon filtration concept, he saw potential that others didn't. He refined the design, built a system meant for long-term home use, and founded LifeSource Water Systems in Pasadena, California, in 1984.
For nearly two decades afterward, LifeSource remained the only whole home, salt-free water filtration system of its kind, setting the standard for what homeowners could expect.
Today, B.J.'s daughter Cherie Harris, her husband Mark Harris, and their son Bryan carry that work forward as the second and third generations leading LifeSource. The company has grown, and the product line has evolved, but the core approach is the same: build the system ourselves, install it ourselves, and stand behind it for the long run.

Early 2000s
A Category Emerges
LifeSource remains the only system of its kind until competitors begin entering the category. Growing water concerns drive more homeowners to seek full-home solutions.
2003
First Whole Home Carbon Certification
LifeSource becomes one of the first companies to officially certify a whole home carbon system, tested and validated for 1.6 million gallons of use.
2005
National Sales Expansion
LifeSource begins selling and shipping their systems to customers all over the US who are seeking clean, filtered water from a trusted brand.
2007 & 2008
Rose Parade Participation
LifeSource participates in the Pasadena Rose Parade with two branded floats, celebrating the company's local roots.
2008
Mark & Cherie Harris Step Into Leadership
Cherie Harris, daughter of founder B.J. Wright, and her husband Mark Harris join the company's leadership. With Mark as CEO, strengthening operations, quality control, and installation standards.
