Whole-House
Water Filtration
for San Diego Homes

Cleaner water from every tap. No salt. No hassle.

San Diego imports most of its water — by the time it reaches your tap, it's picked up minerals from hundreds of miles of aqueducts. The result: some of the hardest, highest-TDS water in California. LifeSource filters and conditions your water at the point of entry, so every tap delivers cleaner, better-tasting water without the salt, waste, or maintenance of a traditional water softener.

What's in San Diego Tap Water?

San Diego water comes primarily from imported sources — the Colorado River via the All-American Canal and Northern California via the State Water Project. By the time it arrives, it's traveled hundreds of miles through open aqueducts, picking up dissolved minerals along the way. It's treated to meet federal standards, but what's legal isn't always what you'd choose to drink.

What San Diego Homeowners Notice

  • Extreme white mineral buildup on fixtures and showerheads

  •  Dry skin and flat hair after showering

  •  Cloudy, spotty glassware — even from the dishwasher

  •  Scale deposits clogging pipes and reducing water heater efficiency

  •  Faster appliance wear from high mineral content

One System. Every Tap. No Salt.

LifeSource installs a whole-house water filtration and conditioning system at the point of entry to your home. Every faucet, shower, and appliance gets filtered, conditioned water.

Filtration

Reduces chloramine, sediment, and other common contaminants found in San Diego municipal water. Carbon-based media, no chemicals added.

Salt-Free Conditioning

Addresses hard water scale without salt, brine discharge, or wastewater. Minerals stay in your water. The scale doesn't stay on your fixtures.

Whole-House Coverage

Installed at the main water line. Every tap, every shower, every appliance. One system replaces the patchwork of under-sink filters, shower filters, and fridge filters.

Water Softener Restrictions in San Diego & Southern California

Traditional water softeners discharge salt brine into municipal wastewater systems. That brine is expensive and difficult to remove during treatment, and it can damage the environment when it reaches rivers, lakes, and groundwater. In water-scarce Southern California, this is a serious and growing concern.

California context:

Multiple California communities restrict or ban salt-based water softeners to protect wastewater treatment systems and the environment. While the City of San Diego has not enacted a blanket ban, neighboring communities and the broader state trend point toward increasing regulation. Cities including Santa Clarita, Fillmore, and communities in Santa Clara Valley and San Bernardino County have already restricted softener discharge. San Diego's reliance on imported water makes brine discharge particularly wasteful.

LifeSource systems use no salt and produce zero brine discharge, making them fully compliant with all current and future California water softener regulations.

What San Diego Families Say

Real reviews from LifeSource customers in the San Diego area.

Elmer & Marian B. Oceanside, CA

We have been a user of LifeSource Water System for 20 years now. During parties, our visitors would compliment our water, comparing its taste to brand-name bottled water. Even when we moved to our new house, we chose to stay with LifeSource because of its excellent quality.

Steve & Ellie C. San Diego, CA

We bought a new home and were searching for a water system. LifeSource proved to be the best. We've had the system now for 12 years and it's just as good as when we bought it in 2000. I have absolutely no complaints and highly recommend it to everyone.

Alia H. El Cajon, CA

Great service and great product. We couldn't believe how quickly we could tell and see a difference in our water. I wish we had done this sooner! I highly recommend LifeSource!
